Arman Khalili, Chief Executive Officer
Arman Khalili is a hands-on executive with extensive computer technology, sales and business development background; he poses a mix of entrepreneurship and operation management skills. He is a principal at Industry Capital spearheading the internet infrastructure practice. Industry Capital is a San Francisco based PE fund manager founded 2003. IC and its affiliated entities manage more than $1.4 billion in discretionary assets. IC owns and operates several private equity platforms focused on real assets: real estate, inter-modal leasing, energy, and data-centers.
Mr. Khalili was an advisor at Harbor Ridge Capital, a boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm to the internet infrastructure sector. He was previously the CEO/Founder of UnitedLayer, LLC, San Francisco’s largest collocation and managed hosting company, where he led the company from inception in 2001 to successful acquisition in 2010. Prior to UnitedLayer, he was the CEO of NeXTLayer, a secured Email ASP. He was the CTO of MusicBank, world’s first (2000) and largest Music Subscription company. He is a serial entrepreneur and started his technical career in Silicon Valley by being the founder of San Francisco’s first public ISP in 1993, Sirius Connections.
Mr. Khalili has held various positions at Level 3, AT&T, NeXT and Apple Computers. He earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University and was a part time instructor at UCLA extension.
Warren Dewar, Chief Financial Officer
Warren Dewar brings more than 15 year of experience as an executive and advisor to companies with a focus on the technology industry. Prior to joining Black Lotus, Warren was an investment banker at Credit Suisse, Bank of America and for a boutique M&A firm with offices in San Francisco and Paris. For more than 15 years, Warren has advised leading companies on strategic matters including growth equity, M&A, joint ventures and capital raising with clients in both public and private companies across a variety of industries. Previously, Warren was a co-founder and CFO of Pay by Touch, a biometric payments software company focused on innovation in the electronic payments industry. Warren started his career as an intelligence analyst at the CIA where he spent five years in various roles. Warren holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from the University of South Carolina.
Shawn Marck, Chief Security Officer
Shawn Marck, CISSP, JNCIS-SEC, has served as Black Lotus’ principal architect and VP of engineering since 2007. His has been instrumental in building the company’s network and DDoS mitigation systems and processes. In 2012 he was awarded the (ISC)2 Information Security Leadership Award for his work on the company’s patent-pending Human Behavior Analysis (HBA) method for mitigating layer 7 DDoS attacks. Prior to joining Black Lotus, he served in the engineering department at The Apollo Group.
Xenophon Giannis, SVP Sales and Marketing
Xenophon Giannis is an accomplished executive with 18 years of experience building, creating and leading sales organizations, driving regional B2B sales efforts, and securing key accounts and strategic partnerships with industry leading companies.
Prior to joining Black Lotus, Mr. Giannis was the Executive Sales Director for AboveNet Communications, a leader in providing high bandwidth connectivity solutions for business and carriers. In his 10 year tenure with AboveNet, he built the west coast sales organization and expanded the customer base which included the top internet content providers, media companies, financial intuitions, datacenter operators and cloud service providers.
Mr. Giannis has held various positions at GlobalCenter, Global Crossing, and Exodus Communications. Mr. Giannis earned a B.S. degree in Managerial Economics, Specializing in Operations Research at University of California at San Diego.
